This months girl hearts camera/light inspired blog post theme is “Be Merry”. I am a sucker for the holidays and traditions. This year was mine & Travis’ first Christmas living together and we had so much fun celebrating and creating our own traditions. So much fun that as I was preparing this post and trying to find photos for it I realized how little I ever brought out my camera which kinda bums me out! So sorry in advance for the lack of photos! This holiday season we cut down our Christmas tree, put lights on the house for the first time (Trav put them up and I stood by stressing about him falling off the ladder), hosted Thanksgiving, made holiday cookies, walked Christmas tree lane, ate lots of amazing food, drank yummy wine, sipped on peppermint schnapps, and had many a cozy evening on the couch watching A Christmas Story. We implemented some new traditions (like our poor mans elf on the shelf) and kept some old. There are so many reason’s why the Christmas season is so special and fun, it brings everyone together, moods are better, and people are more generous. Sometimes we can get caught up in all the fun, gift giving (and receiving!) and forget what the real reason for Christmas is. I am so guilty of this and had to remind myself several times this year why I celebrate the holiday in the first place! It’s pretty amazing to think that 2012 (!) years ago God came to earth as a tiny little baby with the sole purpose of rocking this world and saving us all. And for that I will be forever MERRY!
