Engagement Session in Historic Columbia

I hadn’t been to historic Columbia since I was a kid so I was totally excited when Maddie & Kevin suggested it for their engagement session!  It was really the perfect place for photos, with so many cool textures and beautiful light everywhere!  We started the shoot with a more casual look and ended with something a little bit more fancy which I am saving for another post!  Throughout the post you will find tips that you can take from this engagement session to prepare for your own!

Historic Columbia Engagement Session

1. Don’t be afraid to have fun during your shoot!  Dancing, laughing and playing around are highly encouraged.

2.  When looking for locations look for spots with a lot of versatility, texture, and open shade.  Or if you are not sure you can always just leave the location up to me!  For those of you that do not know, open shade is any area where you have a lot of pretty even light around you yet the sun is still blocked from shining directly on you.

3. Have your makeup professionally done!  It will make you feel extra pretty and is a great opportunity to experiment with looks for your wedding day.

4.  Relax!!  I know you are not used to having your photographs taken but I will direct you the entire time and tell you exactly what I want you to do!  All you have to do is have fun!
